On Jun 10th, I will be on a panel with a few other stocktwits traders discussing the current market environment and strategies for the rest of the year. It's going to be a great panel as you've got traders that incorporate completely different styles in their trading. I have a feeling that this panel will be much more interesting as the flash crash has brought a little color into everyone's lives.
We will be presenting on Thursday, Jun 10th at 430-530 PST. I don't know the exact topics we are discussing, but the panel description says we are going to compare market strategies, so I have a rough idea of what the topics will be at hand.
Bella - A partner at SMB capital, he'll probably be showing differences in structural characteristics in the market order flow. He's great at looking to adapt on the very short term as the tape dictates, and the underlying processes that encourage this adaptation hopefully will be discussed.
Phil - With a psych background, we're going to see how the behavioral characteristics have changed and what to expect going forward. "Disaster Imprinting" hopefully will be a topic as the May 6th hiccup will be weighing in on investor's minds.
Howard - He's a momentum trader, so hopefully he'll discuss how stocks near all-time-highs are behaving and how to manage risk with this strategy. He will also make jokes at our expense and will be live tweeting the event. Maybe there will be some stocktwits schwag, like some ST-branded iPads to give away.
Me - I'll be explaining how the volatility structure has changed and what option strategies you can implement to protect your portfolio as well as take advantage of the current environment. All of this will be done using iambic pentameter.
If you're going to be in LA for the Trader's Expo, definietly check out our panel. It's going to be a great value add and a huge idea generator for investors. You can learn more about the event here.
