Old Tech Has Made a Turn

October 24, 2011 By Steven Place

Don't look now, but the Nasdaq 100 ($QQQ) is near it's recent highs.

Much of this action is being driven by the well known components like $AAPL, $AMZN, and $HANS.

But underneath the surface we are seeing a potential trend change in older tech names.

These companies can be viewed as very, very large ships. In the face of new competition they often are not able to innovate due to lack of leadership or a deep bureaucratic system.

They either sink, or make the changes needed to be successful inthe market place again-- and that takes plenty of time.

$DELL

$EBAY

$JNPR

$MSFT
